SADUR, I Azriel (Archie)

Graduated from the University of Cape Town School of Architecture in the 1950s. Subsequently he joined the Basil Spence in Canonbury, London, UK.

Back in South Africa he designed double-storeyed town houses and seventeen units in two small blocks of flats for IBM in Orlando West (before IBM dis-invested from the apartheid state), although these met with cultural resistance by the inhabitants at the time.

He subsequently designed media centres for schools, these being funded by the parents of the school children.

In 1959 he is recorded as a member of the CPIA of unknown address. In 1969 he is recorded as a salaried member of the TPIA in the employ of Townsview Estates (Pty) Ltd of address Schlesinger Centre, c/o Risk Street and Wolmarans Street, Johannesburg.

In 1993 he is recorded as a principal of GRAFF KRUGER SADUR ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS.
