Arrived in the ZAR in the service of the NZASM in 1886. His family joined him in 1903 after the Anglo-Boer War had ended. He was responsible for the Pulpit in the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk - Grootkerk Bosman Street, Pretoria, sections of the Union Buildings, buildings at the Potchefstroom University, and the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk - Pretoria Oos.
