| | GOODWIN, AE ?Born: fl. 1904
Architect |
Currently nothing much has been discovered about Goodwin. He is likely to have been AE GOODWIN. He was practising in Johannesburg around 1903 in partnership with CD CUTHBERT and C SMALL (cf GOODWIN, SMALL & CUTHBERT). Small left the partnership around 1904 and Goodwin continued to practice Johannesburg with Cuthbert until at least 1905 (cf GOODWIN & CUTHBERT). It is not certain what happened to him after this date. He might well be the Goodwin who was in partnership with R JAMESON in East London circa 1908. (Longlands Tvl dir 1904, 1905; SAWW 1908, cf Jameson; UTD 1907)
GOODWIN & JAMESON, this was a partnership between one (probably AE) GOODWIN and R JAMESON in East London from about 1906 with offices in Cuthbert's Building, East London. (East London Red Book 1906; SAWW 1908 cf JAMESON)All truncated references not fully cited in 'References' are those of Joanna Walker's original text and cited in full in the 'Bibliography' entry of the Lexicon. |
