Born in Amsterdam as the youngest of the nine children of Albertus Johannes Hulshof and his wife, Anna Maria (nee Den Rappen). Little is yet known of his life or career. He married Wilhelmina Gezina Oets (1893-1970) in Cape Town on 27 March 1925. He appears to have practiced as an architect in Kroonstad, where he also retired and where he died. His death certificate lists a married daughter Angenita Hendrika de Bruyn. Hulshof and his wife were buried in the Wespark Cemetery in Kroonstad. (www.familysearch.org)
