Menu Home Upfront Now Up Books Towns Structures People Firms Lexicon HENDRIKZ, Willem de Sanderes Born: 1910 Died: 1959 Artist Willem de Sanderes Hendrikz started his studies in architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand, he moved over to art and was a lecturer in Fine Art at the University of the Witwatersrand and later a full time sculptor. Was a teacher at the University of the Witwatersrand School of Architecture in 1933. He was responsible for the brass doors of the Bank of Netherlands, Pretoria by Eaton. He was a noted artist for the embellishment of buildings and did many bas relief panels for banks, building societies etc. He committed suicide.
