Was listed as an architect living in Cape Town in 1915. He seems to have acquired fame as an astronomer: 'a well-known Cape Town architect (who) ... discovered a new comet' (AB&E Aug 1929:1). Forbes retired in 1953. In 1959 he is recorded as a retired member of the Cape Institute, of unknown address (perhaps already deceased?)
