The topic of her final year Design Treatise (2006) is 'Counterpoint scenarios : a methodology of integrating Tswana tradition into the proposed Kruindfontein.' Pretoria: University of Pretoria (Electronically Published MArch(Prof) Thesis)

After completing her studies she served as Senior Lecturer at the School of Architecture of the University of Johannesburg until early 2012.

In 2012 Phillippa became a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture, University of the Free State. She is currently (2012) pursuing her doctoral studies in massive resource exploitation and generation (MRE+G), a study aimed at developing a model for understanding how various professionals, academics and entrepreneurs transform and intervene in this process so as to increase the efficiencies and negate the deficiencies of MRE+G.
