Born at Reitz in the Orange Free State, son of A Abramowitz. Educated at St Andrews, Bloemfontein and graduated with a BSc (Eng) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1947. On graduating he joined ELGIN STRUCTURES as assistant engineer. In February of 1954 he joined Z KAMPEL as partner in the firm STEELCON STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING which changed to KAMPEL & AMBRAMOWITZ in 1956. In 1955 he married Helen Rabinowitz by whom he had two daughters. In 1967 he served as an associate member of the SA Prestressed Concrete Development Board. In 1967 he is recorded as being of 5 Study Road, Glenhazel, Johannesburg. He died in Johannesburg in 1998. Books citing ABRAMOWITZ
