DONALDSON, WalterBorn: fl. 1897
Nothing is yet known about Donaldson's training. He worked in the Orange Free State as an architect in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He is recorded by Maeder (1917:183) as being of Ficksburg where he had designed the Ficksburg Town Hall (1897) and also, apparently, the Dutch Reformed Church, Ficksburg (although Kesting does not record an architect for the building, he notes additions made 1905-1907).
(The Friend 20.2.1985:8; Kesting 1978; NMC list; Maeder 1917:183; Schoeman 1982).
All truncated references not fully cited in 'References' are those of Joanna Walker's original text and cited in full in the 'Bibliography' entry of the Lexicon.
