FRIBA 1834.

Probably born in Britain, was educated at St Alban's Grammar School, England. At the age of fourteen he accompanied a merchant, R Stuart, to the Cape Colony where he joined the 87th Regiment, and married in 1825. No work by him in South Africa is known. He returned to Britain (n.d.) and was later elected a Fellow of the RIBA (1834).
