Appears to have been born in England where he trained between 1884 and 1887 in his father's office, an architect in Eastbourne in Sussex, England. He worked in various offices between 1887 and 1895, one of which was that of A Hessell Tiltman, and studied at the 'London College of Architecture'(ARIBA nom papers 1895). He qualified in 1894 and was elected an Associate member of the RIBA in 1895. He came out to South Africa in 1896 and worked in Johannesburg. By 1904 he was working in Bloemfontein but had settled in Belfast, Eastern Transvaal by 1907 where his address was in Meitjes St in Belfast. For a number of years he was the only member of the RIBA practising in the Eastern Transvaal. Nothing has so far been recorded of his work. ARIBA 1895; ISAA 1927.
