CHIPKIN (1993) records him as being in the final year class of 1950 at the Wits School with ABRAMOWITCH, FELDMAN and GUEDES, amongst others. He served apprenticeship at HAROLD LE ROITH & ASSOCIATES alongside his classmate ABRAMOWITCH and CROFTON with whom he is recorded in 1959 as being in partnership styled CROFTON AND BENJAMIN of 51 Hartley Road, Durban. By 1969 he was on the retired list of the Natal Institute of architects, address 6A Hamstead high Street, London, NW 3.
