He appears to have trained first in his father's office in Ladysmith before he left to work as an assistant in Cape Town in the offices of BGL MANSERGH and of WALGATE & ELSWORTH from February 1930 until August 1932. Walgate noted that Corrigall had 'considerable experience in his father's office in Ladysmith' (letter to BLG Mansergh, 28 Oct 1933 in ISAA mem lists). He was a registered student at the Michaelis Art School in Cape Town between 1930 and 1932. By 1934 Corrigal was working in the office of MOFFAT & HARVEY in Johannesburg and was a member of the Transvaal Provincial Institute of Architects. He opened his own office in Springs in January 1936 and was joined there by GH CRICKMAY (cf CORRIGALL & CRICKMAY). ISAA 1934.
