Currently nothing is known of Cooper's origins. He studied architecture at the University of Cape Town from 1930, graduating in 1937. During this time he worked (1935) in the office of W PERCIK. By 1937 he was working in Port Elizabeth from where he was elected an Associate member of the RIBA in 1937. He later (n.d.) moved to Johannesburg. In 1959 he was in partnership with A HELLMANN (cf COOPER & HELLMANN), address, 603, Pharmacy House, 80, Jorissen Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. He died in Israel.
