Was born at Skibbereen, Cork, Ireland and worked as a civil engineer, architect and quantity surveyor. He appears to have come to South Africa as a relatively young man, marrying in Johannesburg (n.d.). His first, as yet only, recorded work dates from 1912 in Johannesburg. He appears to have served in the army, reaching the rank of a Major. He was working in Durban in 1932 where he died in 1939. ISAA 1928.
