Victor Utria was born in Bogota, Colombia, obtained his Degree in Architecture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has accumulated more than 35 years' experience in a wide variety of commercial, residential, industrial and institutional projects, handling projects from inception to completion.
Prior to joining Osmond Lange, Victor was responsible for the design leadership of Fleet Utria Architecture, a Harare based practice that has earned numerous IAZ awards.
Victor has been involved in projects in Angola, Brazil, Colombia, Dubai, France, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Oman, Russia, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, Mauritius, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Extensive study tours, fluency in English, Spanish and Portuguese as well as partial knowledge of French and Italian allow him to bring extra depth to his work.
Relevant work completed in Zimbabwe include Runhare House, The POSB HQ Building, Jaggers Wholesalers, MSC HQ, Dandaro Retirement Village and a number of prestigious residential projects. Of note is his own residence House Utria in Ballantine Park, Harare. This project incorporated innovative design and construction ideas and was conferred the 1999 "Excellence in Architecture" award by the Institute of Architects of Zimbabwe.
Victor joined Osmond Lange Architects & Planners in 2006 and was responsible for the design, documentation and construction of the ELIDZ Automotive Supplier Park in East London. He spent four years coordinating the Design and Delivery Process associated with the King Shaka International Airport Project in Durban. His role as Architectural Joint Venture Leader involved Client interface, Consultant coordination and liaison with the contracting delivery teams.
