Cecilia Architects CC (CEA) is a Nelspruit-based design practice in the disciplines of architecture, design and interior architecture. Their approach to design is responsive and their growing portfolio represents their diversity of scales of engagement and social influence. The team reflects the multi-disciplinary ability of their design scope. The firm was established in 1983 as NCA, and rebranded as CEA in 2008. Their architectural and interior design services vary from standard / small to large-sized projects. Through the principal architect, Cecilia Janse VAN RENSBURG, the firm has established itself in the field of architecture and project management, servicing a diverse range of clients. There is a current staff of 14, comprising architects, interior designers, technologists, draughtspersons, photographer, a research and knowledge team and a finance and practice management team. Their work ranges from programme planning and organising, to site surveying and building evaluation. They also specialise in programme and concept design analysis, design development, specification, drawing production and contract document development. Their interior design team strives to create spaces and surfaces that reflect and enrich architectural essence of the projects they deliver. They profess a passionate belief in an architecture that is socially responsive and materially responsible. CEA's largest project to date is a new multi-level bus terminal, developed for Songizwe Properties at a total value of R55M. The majority of the firm's consulting work in the past two years has involved construction cost values between R500 000 and R55M with clients in both government and the private sector.
