Was born in Port Elizabeth and educated there at the Grey Institute High School. In 1924 he attended the Architectural Association in London, was exempted from the intermediate and final examination and passed the professional practice examination in 1928/1929. He was elected an Associate member of the RIBA in 1930. He completed his office experience with Gotch and Buckwell presumably in London before returning to South Africa where he commenced practice in Cape Town. By 1931 he was working in REID & DELBRIDGE's office in Cape Town. He married in Cape Town, living at Penrose, Rhodes Avenue, Mowbray in 1931. He was later in partnership with J GAISFORD.
In 1959 he is recorded as a member of the Transvaal Institute of address 305/6 Trevor Buildings, Voortrekker Street, Vereeniging, Transvaal.
His address when he died was c/o Town Engineer's Office, Ladysmith, Natal; he died in Ladysmith.
