Born in Holland, studied architecture in Delft and urban and regional planning in Cape Town, where he started private practice (1974). Set up Building Design Group Swaziland (now Eswatini) after working for six years in Lesotho as a partner in Design Group Lesotho. The Mpaka project has enabled a synthesis of European training and African experience.
