Was probably born in South Africa. He studied architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand and graduated in March 1929 with a Diploma in Architecture. In 1929 he was listed as one of the finalists for the Baker Scholarship. He was not the winner, however. In 1939 he had begun to work for the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT in Pretoria when he developed eye trouble. He left for an operation and treatment in Edinburgh but died suddenly.
