| | WOCKE, Richard Colnor Albert (Jnr)Born: fl. 1880 Died: 1891Architect |
The son of Richard WOCKE and active as a builder (also designer?) in Bloemfontein in the 1880s; RCA Wocke is also referred to as AW WOCKE or Albert WOCKE. He was educated in Germany and was already working in Bloemfontein by the early 1880s as a master builder with his father. He was later in the service of the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT as clerk of works at Heilbron, but in 1891 was replaced and back in Bloemfontein on a reduced salary. G Wocke, active in Bloemfontein around 1892 and Emil Otto Heinrich Wocke, active in Bloemfontein c1897, may have been sons of Richard Wocke.
