| | BOWIE and BARNETTEstablished: 1934 Ended: 1944Architect |
A partnership between JS BOWIE and RA BARNETT from 1934 until 1944 in Benoni and in Germiston. The partnership was perhaps based on Bowie's winning the competition for the Transvaal Provincial Home for the Chronic Sick at Rietfontein in 1934. The partnership dissolved in November 1944, preliminary to Bowie's retirement; Barnett continued the business. All truncated references not fully cited in 'References' are those of Joanna Walker's original text and cited in full in the 'Bibliography' entry of the Lexicon.
