Little is yet known of Bowen's career. In 1905 he was already living and practising in East London. He is recorded as assisting Arthur SAVAGE in the design of his own house (now the Ann Bryant Art Gallery) in 1905 as building contractor. Currently only two buildings from this period have been recorded. He retired in 1947. ISAA 1928. (ISAA mem list)
He is listed as a Past Master of the Freemasons’ Buffalo Lodge in East London in 1906.
