Practised in the Cape Province on his own account from 1909. He was born in Abingdon, England and served his articles in Oxford, qualifying for Associate of the RIBA in 1903; he was a Royal Academician. In 1905 Simpson came to South Africa, settling in Port Elizabeth where he joined SMITH & DEWAR's office. In 1909 he moved to Oudtshoorn where he began practice on his own account as T Simpson; in October 1910 he was joined by HH BRIDGEMAN who became a partner in September 1915 (cf SIMPSON & BRIDGEMAN).
