Was born in Pietermaritzburg and married in Durban in 1912; he appears to have spent most of his career, having trained as a landsurveyor, in Dundee. He retired from the Institute of South African Architects 1929/1930 and resigned from the ISAA in 1933, continuing to live in Dundee where he eventually died. ISAA 1927.
