Active in Johannesburg circa 1902 to 1907, Raine became a member of the Association of Transvaal Architects around 1915. Although no profession is given in the death certificate of one Frederick Raine (born in Ladysmith, Natal, died in Durban aged 55 on 1 February 1938) whose occupation at time of death was given as gentleman; he was living in Scottburgh at the time of his death. It is possible that this man was the architect Raine. ISAA 1927.
