Was born in Durban and registered as a probationer with the RIBA in 1923; by 1927 he was a member of the Institute of South African Architects. He may have been articled to PAYNE & PAYNE with whom he was associated on the design of the Methodist Church in Moore Rd, Durban. He worked in the office of Payne & Payne from at least 1930 and later entered into partnership with WS PAYNE. The name of the firm was PAYNE & PEYTON.
