ARIBA 1938
DipArch (Cape Town) (T.p.)
Berold registered as a full-time student of architecture at the University of Cape Town in 1931. From January 1935 to February 1937 he was a draughtsman 'in a local architect's office' (ARIBA nom papers 1938); the architect was LA LUBYNSKI. By 1938 he had left for Johannesburg where he was elected an Associate member of the RIBA (1938). His RIBA papers were witnessed by CJ SLADE, City Engineer's Department, Johannesburg; it is possible that Berold was also working there. In 1959 his address was given as 506, Lewis and Marks Buildings, 65, President Street, Johannesburg. By 1969 he was working for the Department of Forward Planning, City Engineer, Johannesburg. He retired in 1971.
