ARIBA 1932
Was born in Lowestoft, England. He trained at the Bartlett School, London, from 1926 until he graduated in 1932. While studying he spent four months as assistant foreman with Dove Brothers, builders in Islington and eight and a half months with J Waldran & Son (builders?) in London. He seems to have left England for Cape Town immediately after qualifying since he was in Cape Town by 1932 where he took and passed the RIBA examination and was elected an Associate member of the RIBA in the same year. By 1935 he had moved to Johannesburg and by 1936 was employed by the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT in Pretoria until 1952 when he was transferred to the Transvaal Provincial Administration remaining there until 1959. He was married to the architect Joan Rollo DRURY. He retired in 1974 and died in Grahamstown.
