Born in Pietermaritzburg, Moon was a pupil of WE ROBARTS from 1880 to 1885 when he joined the City Engineer's Department, Durban as an assistant. He left the Department in 1889 and rejoined Robarts, entering into partnership with him about this date (cf ROBARTS & MOON?); the partnership continued until 1901. After the partnership ended Moon practised on his own account as architect and surveyor in Hillcrest from 1901 until 1912. He was listed as architect and government surveyor in Braby's directory 1929, although he seems to have retired in 1922. Moon was a founder member of the Natal Institute of Architects in 1901 and the Auditor of the Institute in 1903. NIA 1901.
