Caption on rear: Broadway, Cotswolds, 1942

Photograph was taken at the Lygon Arms, a hotel in the picturesque village of Broadway, in the Cotswolds. The owner was a man called Don Russell. During WWII the inn was quiet and the staff quarters empty as they were off fighting. The owner made the rooms available to Colonial and Dominion servicemen who were far from home and needed a weekend break. Ric Owens on left hand side - the names of the others are unknown. (Mary Lilian Owens)
