Commonwealth Rome Scholarships in Arts and Architecture

_____________________________________________________

By way of Royal Charter, through the support of the British Arts Council, donors and the RIBA, the Commonwealth Rome Scholarships in Arts and Architecture were established soon after the establishment of the British School at Rome in the early 1900’s. After the withdrawal of South Africa from the Commonwealth in 1961, access to both the Sir Herbert Baker Scholarship and the Commonwealth Rome Scholarships in Art and Architecture were withdrawn.
