Heritage Impact Assessment

The identification and analysis by suitably qualified persons of potential impacts, both positive and negative, on the tangible and intangible aspects of heritage resources affected by proposed changes in status, development, works or environment and the setting of measures for the mitigation of negative impacts and maximisation of positive impacts.

For a good example of a Heritage Impact Assessment see extracts from that done by MARTINSON for the Bhunga Building which received an Award of Merit from the South African Institute of Architects in 2012.
