Charles Johnson Memorial Hospital - Classrooms
Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal

Dennis John CLAUDE: Architect

A two-room school unit at the hospital designed when I was a second year student at the University of Natal. Built by a multi racial group as the first project of the South African Work Camps Association that was founded by Martin Russell and myself. It was designated a "Play Centre" because SA apartheid laws forbade independent educational facilities, therefore it was not a School.
