Ds.

At a meeting of the congregation on 2 April 1898 the members decided to build a church with 600 seats and the cornerstone was laid in March 1899. The Anglo-Boer War caused major delays and the building could only be completed after the war. From the start Rev. Abraham Kriel joined the Boer Commandos and could only return to his work three years later, after the war was over. So the church building, on the corner of Church Square and Marais Street, directly opposite Abraham Kriel Childcare Langlaagte Campus, was only inaugurated on 12 December 1902.
