The appearance of massive strength afforded by these buildings is very fine and they are considered to be a handsome imposing block, and a credit to the town. At present the Post Office occupies one end of the building, but judging by the rapid expansion of the place, even more commodious premises will be required ere long.

The building has unfortunately lost some of the fine original details including the battlemented parapets, the fine chimneys, the corrugated iron roof and the octagonal roof turrets but still retains a significant presence in the town. (Dec 2010)
