Designed by Damstra for own use. Initially let to the Japanese Embassy as ambassadors' residence (later 1920s).
Damstra later lived here with his second wife, Julia and their children.
The lower floor, designed as reception area with billiard room, card room and children's play area was later converted by Damstra as a letable flat.
Of the two domes in the photographs, the smaller is the dome over the entrance, the second octagonal is the main dome over the central space in the house.
The fish pond is an original Damstra at the back of the house.
