The Big Hole is an open-pit and underground diamond mine in Kimberley and claimed to be the largest hole excavated by hand, although this claim is disputed. (Wikipedia)

The museum at the Big Hole or Old Town is a reconstruction of early buildings which were built around the mine and formed part of early Kimberley.
