Rennie 1978 list it as no 7 Corporation Street, but no 5 is clearly visible on the photographs as well as 7 above one door. Rennie also spells the name Carl Herrmann.

The building is currently (2012) offices and is very well looked after.

_______________

It housed Carl Herrmann & Company for many years.

The company that used to occupy it was started by my grandfather and was later owned and run by my father.

I am the third in the line of the Carl Herrmann’s of Cape Town. The building was sold when my father passed away in 1983.

(Carl Herrmann, July 2016)
