LANGTON and BARBOUREEstablished: 1923
The partnership in Durban between WE LANGTON and WB BARBOURE from about 1923 until the partnership was dissolved in May 1935. Langton left to practise on his own account while Barboure remained at the original office in practice by himself. Surrey Mansions is an example of the firm's apartment building; it has been described as 'the best local example of the Art Deco Movement' (Plan (10) 1975:12-13). The partners admitted IK ASKHAM of Pietermaritzburg into partnership (cf LANGTON, BARBOURE & ASKHAM) in about 1926.
