He presented many papers on major early South African works of civil engineering that employed reinforced concrete as structural material, for example the Mossel Bay Jetty, the Knysna Wharf extensions, the Robben Island Jetty extensions as well as the first Kowie River Bridge at Port Alfred, for which he appears to be the primarily responsible engineer, presented in 1907.
