Studied for five years at the Architectural Association in London from 1918. He had office experience with Knott & Collins; Elcock & Sutcliffe; Wallis Gilbert & Partners. The date of his arrival in South Africa is not known but he registered as a member of the Institute of South African Architects in 1927. By 1959 he is recorded as an absent member of the Cape Institute of address 5 Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London, United Kingdom.
