Studied architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand from January 1927 until he graduated with a Degree of Bachelor of Architecture in August 1933. He spent about two years in practical work at various times in the offices of architects in Johannesburg, among them Gordon LEITH, AJ MARSHALL, P Rogers COOKE and STUCKE & HARRISON. In 1928 he joined the student tour of the Cape with Professor PEARSE and assisted with the compilation of Pearse's work on Cape Dutch Architecture. In 1934 he was placed second in the Herbert BAKER Scholarship, won by RA BRUCE with whom Tucker later entered into partnership. Tucker, said to have been a talented draughtsman, commenced practice in Johannesburg in 1934 in partnership with C CAWSE (cf CAWSE & TUCKER). In 1935 a partnership under the name of TUCKER-BRUCE was formed. Little is known of Tucker's career after 1935.
