Nyman was working in Cape Town. Little is currently recorded about his career. According to Rennie (1983:39) Nyman was responsible for a conversion of Sicilia, a double-storey terraced villa in Boundary Road, Cape Town in 1940. Nyman retired in 1949 and went to live in Elsies River, Cape in 1954. In 1959 he is recorded as a retired member of the Cape Institute of address Craiglockhart, Princess Road, Sea Point, Cape. In 1969 he is of address 301 Highwick, High Level Road, Sea Point, Cape.
